I woke up at 6am this morning, and I was 40 minutes late for the first ever TEDXPP Workshop I've joined. Honestly, I’ve no idea what i was doing with my life for the 3 hours and 40 minutes this Saturday morning. I guess 20% of the time for the bath and the other 80% reading Huffington Post through facebook and of course, facebooking and replying emails. Isn't it funny that i do these things pretty unconsciously? It's like morning coffee. By 8am in the morning, I've already known the many things that have been happening around the world, and what my friends were doing at 3am in the morning. I've always been fascinated by social media and participating in the TedxPP workshop today just wake my passion- the passion to write, to blog, to get connected with more people around the world in order to express my ideas and to start causes that i strongly believe in. Ideas are always worth spreading, so why not start spreading it? It's just so cool ... and AWESOME :D

Social Media's Privacy Setting Issues

since social media is the trend of current generation of people. Security and privacy setting is becoming a common issues for most of end users. Many users don't even know how to enable privacy setting. This is making their lives losing something that you mean to share only to their friends and family BUT ends up showing them to people all over the world.

My idea worth spreading is that ignorance is a gateway to learning, not an end point of stupidity, and that young people are in the best position to embrace this and advance new ideas for good in the world.

Traditional mainstream media incumbents (many of whose opinions are is characterised by entrenched ideological bigotry) take up space in a media landscape that desperately needs innovative, liberal ideas.

We have an unprecedented level of access to information these days, which helps to combat the inherent human tendency toward confirmation bias, which leads to ideological bigotry if we are not sufficiently critical of our own opinions and the opinions of our peers. We are able to research and verify things quickly and easily: there is no longer any excuse for assuming you know the facts based on hearsay.

Some people think they shouldn't express their opinions because they don't know enough about the facts – they feel ignorant. But opinions are just that: opinions, not facts. Expressing your half-informed opinions online is a great way to get feedback and to expand your understanding.

We must act on the understanding we have in the moment, and be prepared to adjust that knowledge as new evidence comes to hand. One of my favourite quotes about this is from Bertrand Russell:

The essence of the liberal outlook lies not in what opinions are held, but in how they are held: instead of being held dogmatically, they are held tentatively, and with a consciousness that new evidence may at any moment lead to their abandonment.

Gay marriage pic

Written by Sopheak Hoeun & Realsmey Yean:

Gay marriage law has been passed by His Majesty King Norodom Sihamony after his coronation. Arguably, majority of Cambodian population still don't support that.

Interestingly, the president of the united states of america has just shown his support to gay marriage, and he did receive very similar reaction from his citizens.

My Travel in Kompot

Keo Leny:From the beautiful Rabbit Island to the Bokor Mountain is the gift of Mother Nature for Cambodia- a place should visit before you die.
I and my friends celebrate the New Year eve'sin Kep. Kep is a relaxing southwestern seacoast province of Cambodia 168 km away from Phnom Penh. We stop by Kompong Trach Mountain, known for its picture hyacinth covered lake. Here I go to the nearbylimestone caves and find at the heart of the mountain, a small well-like hole, where some people go to pray in front of the Buddha statue. It is wonderful to see such founding anew world.
After that, we hold a boat to visit the nearby Rabbit Island perhaps 30 minutes. Upon arriving, it is such a great to see the coconut trees are swaying on peaceful beach. We have lunch on the beach with a fresh air, quiet and sunshine and non-smoking where the greatest place to relax on this holiday is and lay on the sandy beach to read a book, swim and snorkel. On the island, treks up the mountain for the best panoramic view of the sea and the nearby town. When night falls, we can explore and enjoy the culinary diversity of restaurants that are scatter along the beach.
Early morning, driving back to Kompot where a gate way to the Bokor National Park is. The Bokor National Park was developed by the French as a private chic hill station in the early 20th century. There's a road the French had built to walk or drive up to the top of theplateau to this well-known national park, where we can find an abandoned Catholic church, a casino and hotel, and it is called the city in the clouds, as the buildings get shrouded by fogs that gives one the feeling like the paradise. The Bokor National Park is popular for its cool mountain climate and remains a year round favorite locals and foreigners. The scenery from the top is captivating especially in the morning hours when I can literally touch the clouds and take in the mountain fresh air.
Nice time with picnic on the mountain and drive back home.

Soryda

Hello, I like walking / jogging at the riverside every morning week end or holiday. It is very fresh air over there. People doing exercise over there. However, one disturbing thing for us is the rubbish, plastic bags, ... all over the park. I just want to tell our people to please do not through these like that. Please keep our city clean and green Thank you

Stay YOUng, and go Explore!

by Ean Panharith

Ideas worth spreading: "Stay YOUng, and go Explore!"

How staying young lead to greater sense of creativity and happiness. Most importantly, how it leads to self-discovery; inner-child is a root to selfhood.
As Ashley Montagu said: “We are intended to remain in many ways childlike. We were never intended to grow up into the kind of adults most of us have become …but to grow and developed in ways that emphasize rather than minimize childlike traits.”
Embracing one’s inner child means letting go of the defensive self/guard, and motivating one to explore and take adventures to broader understand everything around oneself. It allows one to truly have self-freedom and true identity.

Neang Sovathana

"Is bad thing really bad?" , this is about seeing the other side of the problem which is a good side. Nobody like problem or want to have problem, but there are times which we cannot really choose. Want it or not, problem happen anyway. My idea is how could we make use of those problem for our personal strength.
